More work

So the saga continues with Shimmering Mermaid. I am stitching the brown/green section of the fin which is the area that truly joins the body of the mermaid to the fin. I thought I could do this area without having to fiddle with the stitches because of the mistake I made in the fin (that I am not tearing out) but alas it has become a mess when I tried to join the two sections together (body & fin).

After putting the pattern down for a couple days while I worked out a couple options I think I have come up with a solution that will work. The area that I have decided to fiddle with is 98% stitches and 2% beads/metallic stitches. So I basically I eliminated all the metallic and beads except for maybe one per line and fiddle to make sure everything lined up as needed and what I will do is when I am ready to add the beads at the end I will eye ball where I think a bead or metallic stitch goes and actually put it on top of the regular stitch that is already there. I am just so thankful that this section is a blending section where the body blends into the fin so the color change is quite subtle and there isn't much beads and metallic because of this subtleness so it should be an easy fix.

I am not very happy with this screw up but ultimately it just proves that I need to find two points of reference on a section I jump to when stitching not just one because counting mistakes happen.

I am currently working on three projects to help get my mojo back so hopefully this long weekend I will have some progress to show you in pictures.

Thanks for listening.

Hello, Hello

Hi everyone

I am around and I have been stitching LOL, just not very much, my ereader is still pulling my focus but all is good, it is keeping me relaxed and not letting life get me down, it seems this time of year is always hard for me to handle. Anyway, I am kind of splitting my focus between 3 projects right now, I know for a girl who is a one at a time stitcher I sure like to fall off course, repeatedly. I do have reason for having three projects this time though.

#1 is Shimmering Mermaid from Mirabilia I have opted to only work on it on the weekends for right now. The area of the body that I am stitching it quite full of metallic threads and I was finding it really hard to get into it on the train and was having a lot of threads knotting and breaking and it was really pissing me off so I think until I get over this section I will leave it at home where I can fiddle more and spread my threads out.

#2 is Santa's Village by CCN I started collecting the design and was going to do the entire design on one piece of fabric once all 12 designs came out at the end of this year but watching every ones progress on various blogs I couldn't handle waiting anymore and had to start the project now LOL. I currently only have the first 2 houses so I will only be stitching it that far until I purchase the rest.

#3 is Woodland Goddess by Joan Elliott it is a long standing WIP and I put a couple stitching into it  last month and finished the green and blue cape bits and couldn't remember why it had taken so long to get back to stitching it again so I will be stitching on it once I finish what I have to do on Santa's Village.

Well I am off to put more stitches into Shimmering Mermaid, thanks for listening.
